5 simple iPhone hacks you might not know about

Even if you’ve owned an iPhone for years, you may not be aware of the numerous easy hacks hidden in the settings. These little but practical tips can improve the speed, ease, and enjoyment of using your phone. You might not be aware of these easy iPhone tricks, but after using them, you’ll question how you managed without them. The following are some simple iPhone hacks you might not know about.

Avoid motion sickness when using your iPhone while driving.

I’m among the fortunate individuals who don’t experience motion sickness when driving. However, there is a way to ease the strain on your eyes if you find it difficult to look at your phone when riding in the rear of an Uber. The Motion submenu in the Accessibility page of the Settings app is where you may activate vehicle motion cues.

In an attempt to lessen motion sickness, this adds a number of dots to the screen’s outer edge that will respond to the movement of the car you’re in. Tim Werth, a tech editor at Mashable, tells me it’s definitely worth using.

Configure the keyboard on your iPhone.

This iPhone trick is as simple to use as it is to overlook: adjusting your keyboard so that you can type with one hand. It can become a bit out of control to type with one hand, particularly on larger devices. To remedy this, simply click one of the three keyboard-shaped icons that appear after holding down the button you would typically tap to launch the Emoji keyboard.

By doing this, the keyboard will be positioned to the left, right, or center (where it is by default). In addition to sliding it to one side, putting it in either the left or right mode will condense the keyboard so you can type with just one thumb.

Transfer several iPhone apps simultaneously without organizing them into a folder.

The majority of iPhone users are aware that you can move an application across your screen by briefly holding your finger on it. They are also mindful that you can group programs into folders. However, what happens if you wish to move several unrelated programs at once without first organizing them into a folder?

Even though it may seem a little strange at first, there is a straightforward method for doing this because it calls for several fingers.

To begin, press down on an application, just like you would to move it. Then, hold your finger on the first app and tap the other applications with a different finger when the other apps on screen start to wobble.

This eliminates the need to first place all of the apps you’ve chosen in a folder by temporarily grouping them together for mobility. Quite clever.

Avoid inadvertently activating the iPhone’s flashlight.

Do you detest the iPhone lock screen’s flashlight symbol because you inadvertently turn it on all the time? Apple’s iOS does not provide a clear answer to this problem.

Unlock your phone to begin, but don’t swipe upwards from the lock screen. Rather, press and hold the screen till the lock wallpaper or screen customization menu appears. After selecting “Customize,” select “Customize current wallpaper.”

The flashlight icon can then be completely removed or replaced with another icon. If you decide to replace it, keep in mind that everything else you place in that slot will likely be unintentionally turned on just as frequently as the flashlight was.

Plan your messages on your iPhone.

Do you prefer to work at night and don’t want anyone to know when you’re at your best? Before your head hits the pillow, would you like to finish sending out all of the early morning reminders to family members? If so, you should use this feature.

With iOS 18, Apple integrated text scheduling into the Messages app. Just type your message and click the plus symbol on the left rather than the blue arrow on the right. After then, scroll down a little until the “Send Later” button appears.

After that, you can schedule your message using a simple user interface. Choose a time, click “Confirm,” and you can relax knowing that your friend won’t know you wrote that message during the late hours of the night for whatever reason. Unfortunately, for this to function, you and the recipient must be on iOS.
